However, I can pretty well believe that corruption isn't a Democrat exclusive issue. There are too many republicans just as dirty.

Clearly the 2 men had no contact with each other regarding this, and if they did the FBI would know since they were taping the calls.

      It creates an image issue for Democrats overall, much in the same way that past scandals have hurt Republicans. Rangel makes it worse.
