Republican presidential candidate John McCain says Alaska Sen. Ted Stevens should resign in the wake of his conviction on federal corruption charges. Stevens maintains his innocence and says he'll continue to run for re-election.

        Senator Stevens is under a cloud of suspicion and a guilty verdict if he has any honor he will resign and then work to clear himself.

        Someone who is in jail or on probation can't vote. He's guilty. jail time or probation likely. He should be forced to resign.
